Olive Garden rolls out new look in Capitol Heights

WASHINGTON 鈥 Olive Garden鈥檚 newest D.C.-area restaurant features the chain鈥檚 new look, which it started rolling out in 2014 as part of a brand reboot.

The Capitol Heights, Maryland, Olive Garden opens Dec. 5 at 1681 Ritchie Station Court.

Olive Garden says the 7,800-square-foot Capitol Heights location will employ more than 180.

Olive Garden, which introduced what it calls its largest menu refresh ever with more than 20 new items, said its new restaurant designs are 鈥渕ore open and vibrant, creating an atmosphere that promotes togetherness, while maintaining the casual warmth鈥 its guests love.

The new designs include the removal of walls, more modern lobbies and bar areas, flexible seating for larger parties and vibrant colors, fabrics and textures.

It has even gone as far as to replace the plates, with what it calls a more modern, all-white look, to enhance presentation.

Olive Garden has nine restaurants in the D.C. area, and about 800 total. It鈥檚 owned by Darden Restaurants Inc., which also operates LongHorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille and others.
