WASHINGTON 鈥 It evidently seemed like a good idea at the time, although even that is hard to believe.
The phrase 鈥淏and of Ballers鈥 isn鈥檛 new. The fact that it plays off the 鈥淏and of Brothers鈥 title Stephen Ambrose鈥檚 book and subsequent HBO miniseries about the heroic 101st聽Airborne hasn鈥檛 ruffled feathers before.
But Under Armour took a little farther by not only using the term, but incorporating the iconic image of the flag-raising on Iwo Jima.
It didn鈥檛 go well.

The fact that the Band of Brothers name and the Iwo Jima image come from different theaters of World War II probably didn鈥檛 help.
Other than that, though, it was a genius move.
