DC police: Transgender woman shot on July 4 pronounced dead

WASHINGTON — A transgender woman who was shot on the Fourth of July has been pronounced dead Wednesday, D.C. police say.

Deeniqua Dodds, 22, was suffering from a gunshot wound, and was found unconscious and breathing in the 200 block of Division Avenue Northeast on July 4. Sixth District police officers reached her around 3 a.m. after being flagged down.

Dodds died after nine days of being on life support, º£½ÇÉçÇøapp’s television news partner.
