WASHINGTON 鈥� The police officer charged with sexual abuse after authorities say he was found inside a teen girl’s bedroom in the middle of the night is no longer employed by the D.C. police department.
In a statement, the department said Nathan Clinkscale separated from the department May 2 “because of his arrest.” Initially it was reported that, Clinkscale left the department and was not terminated; but police spokesman Hugh Carew told 海角社区app that Clinkscale was terminated.
Clinkscale was arrested early Monday morning after an Upper Marlboro woman called Prince George’s County police to report finding the 25-year-old man inside her teen daughter’s bedroom at 1:30 a.m., police said. Clinkscale has been charged with the third-degree sex abuse.
Clinkscale met the teen on a dating website, according to police.
D.C. police issued a strongly worded statement after Clinkscale’s April 30 arrest. 鈥淭he allegations against him are disgraceful and do no represent the standards of ethics our sworn officers are committed to upholding every day,鈥� the statement read.
Clinkscale, who had worked for the department since 2016, had been on administrative leave since he was arrested April 30. He previously worked out of the fifth district.
