15-year veteran of Fairfax Co. police out on bond after child porn charges

WASHINGTON 鈥 A 15-year veteran of the Fairfax County Police Department arrested on child pornography charges posted a $15,000 bond Friday and is out of jail on a supervised release program.

At an initial hearing Friday morning, Fairfax County General District Court Judge聽Richard E. Gardiner ordered聽PFC William 鈥淏ud鈥 Walker, 50, not to use computers and to have no聽unsupervised contact with minors.

He is charged with possession of child pornography and intent to distribute child pornography.

During his career, Walker had served as the spokesman for the Fairfax County Police Department and as a聽school resource officer at South County High School.

Detectives started their investigation into him after聽being contacted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Walker allegedly uploaded the pornography involving boys to Tumblr, a blogging site. Police say they do not know whether Walker created the pornography.

Walker will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on聽June 17.
