Woman dead following I-95 crash in Va.

WASHINGTON — State police are investigating a crash Saturday that left one person dead near the 166 mile marker on I-95 in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of I-95 around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, according to a news release.

A sedan traveling southbound rear-ended an SUV, causing it to overturn, police said.

The woman driving the SUV died at the scene.

State police are still working to notify the driver’s next of kin.

The man driving the sedan was not injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation with charges pending.
