Flood-ravaged Ellicott City in need of volunteers, county鈥檚 top leader says

WASHINGTON 鈥擧oward County officials are looking to the public for volunteers and assistance as recovery efforts continue in flood-ravaged Ellicott City.

Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman said they are still determining the destruction caused by the deadly floodwaters on July 30.

“We’re focusing on how we can make it stronger and better for our infrastructure for storm water remediation, storm water management,”聽Kittleman said.

The public has played a part in the rebuilding efforts. Kittleman said there have been plenty of donations since the flooding, but said there was a long way to go.

Financial donations are being accepted at the Ellicott City Partnership鈥檚 webpage, , and at the United Way of Central Maryland鈥檚 donation page.聽 You can also text the keyword 鈥淓CStrong鈥 to 51555.
