This Valentine鈥檚 Day, treat your little sweethearts to a special outing. 鈥檚 Guiomar Ochoa shares a few ideas with holiday-themed events happening in the D.C. area: 听
Valentine鈥檚 Day baking at Williams Sonoma Kids ages 5 to 13 can get creative in the kitchen at Williams Sonoma鈥檚 Bethesda, Maryland, location on Saturday, Feb. 10. There, they鈥檒l learn the ins-and-outs of making 鈥 and eating 鈥 sweet treats for the holiday. 鈥淚t鈥檚 kind of a nice way for the kids to make something and give it to their parents, or give it to their friends or siblings,鈥 Ochoa said.

D.C. libraries get craftyD.C.鈥檚 public libraries are hosting a number of Valentine-themed classes and workshops for Washingtonians of all ages. Some sessions include making valentines for veterans, crafting cards and even sewing heart-shaped elbow patches onto worn sweaters. Pinkies up: Treat the kids to tea For a memorable afternoon outing, treat the kids to tea at Georgetown鈥檚 . Ochoa said the outpost offers a children鈥檚 tea menu 鈥 complete with scones, pastries and kid-approved sandwiches (grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly, and Nutella). 鈥淚t doesn鈥檛 take long and it really makes them feel special. And it’s just a fun thing to do that we usually don’t take time to do,鈥 Ochoa added.
