Four employees were taken to the hospital after a reported carbon monoxide leak due to a ventilation issue with a boiler at a hotel in Ocean City, Maryland, on Friday morning.
The Ocean City Fire Department received a call for a 鈥渃arbon monoxide detector activation” at the Ashore Hotel, at 10100 Coastal Highway, just after 11 a.m.
鈥淯pon arrival, our firefighters were able to use our gas meters to determine if there, in fact, was a carbon monoxide leak,鈥 fire department spokesperson Ryan Whittington said in a video statement sent to 海角社区app.
Because of the number of people that required medical treatment, additional emergency crews were called to the scene.

They were working in an office area near the boiler room, according to the Ocean City Fire Department.
In total, 18 people were evaluated, including 13 who were checked out at the scene. One person refused treatment.
Kane Kennedy, the General Manager of Ashore Resort & Beach Club, told 海角社区app that the boiler has been shut down and repairs are being made. As of 1:30 p.m. Friday, the fire department and the city’s building inspector deemed the hotel safe, and it’s back to operating normally.
Carbon monoxide is an odorless and colorless gas. It can cause sudden illness or death if inhaled.
In a聽聽Tidal Health said all four people have since been discharged from the hospital.
The city鈥檚 building inspectors, representatives from the gas company and members of the Fire Marshal鈥檚 Office remained at the scene investigating the cause of the leak.
