UPDATE – ABC7 says the woman has died after speaking to the Charles County sheriff. Her husband is in critical condition. Both were shot while walking their dog along a path behind the high school.
The woman was in her 40s. Police say that the shooting appears to be random and that the gunman unloaded a handgun, hitting the victims multiple times.
WASHINGTON, Friday – 10/26/2012, 9:09pm ET – Police say a man and woman were shot while walking on a path behind Westlake High School in Waldorf, Md. Friday night.
ABC7 both people were taken to the hospital in critical condition. A listener tells 海角社区app that a large number of police were in the area tonight, advising people to stay in their homes.
It is unclear whether a suspect is in custody. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
