WASHINGTON – Anthony McIntosh, a former guard at the Prince George’s County jail, has pleaded guilty to falsification of records in a federal investigation.
His attorney Deborah Boardman says McIntosh lied to a police officer.
“He was not the first person to find Ronnie White unresponsive, when in fact he did find him unresponsive, thought he was dead, and did not call for help,” Boardman says.
White was found dead in his cell in June 2008, two days after being arrested in the hit-and-run death of Prince George’s police Cpl. Richard Findley.
When asked why McIntosh didn’t call for help and then lied about it, Boardman says, “That will be addressed at a later date.”
Other counts against McIntosh include a federal civil rights investigation and obstruction of justice. However, those will be dropped in exchange for his agreement to a plea deal.
McIntosh is scheduled to be sentenced on April 8, 2013. He could get up to 20 years in prison. Sentencing guidelines recommend two-to-two-and-a-half years behind bars.
