WASHINGTON – Bladensburg police shot and killed a woman who lunged at officers with a knife Friday night.
Three Bladensburg officers were called to the 4200 block of the 53rd Avenue about 10:30 p.m. for a report of a woman brandishing a knife in the hallway of the apartment building.
Prince George’s County Police, which is investing the shooting, say the woman apparently lunged at the officers and officers fired at her.
She was taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center where she died. Police did not release the woman’s name.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
