WASHINGTON – Imagine having a world-famous chef as a college instructor — and no, it’s not cooking school.

Local chef Jose Andres created a course for students at George Washington University, titled “The World on a Plate: How Food Shapes Civilization.” The class focuses on the interfaces of food and society. And for the last class, students got a taste of Andres’ cooking style.

Andres and his crew cooked paella in an 8-foot pan for students on the George Washington campus.
