Airline fees set to soar as summer approaches

The travel season is ramping up, and the airlines are finding more ways to bring in money through fees.

United, American, Delta and US Airways have increased the fee to change many domestic flights from $150 to $200.

And Frontier Airlines will start charging $2 for soda, juice and coffee in economy class. And if you don’t book your flight with them through their website, you could pay a fee of up to $100 for your carry-on bag. That’s right – your carry-on.

The says many airport ticket agents have the power to remove or reduce the fees. So your only hope might be a polite request at the ticket counter.
