WASHINGTON – This is not what you want to hear if you’re a frequent flier: Italian police have released a video showing airline workers rummaging through passengers’ checked luggage.
It was part of a sting operation with hidden cameras in the cargo holds of the Italian carrier Alitalia. As a result of the operation, 29 people have been arrested, and another 57 were taken in for questioning.
USA Today that the thieves stole cameras, cellphones, cash and other belongings.
