海角社区app’s stop sign experiment: How many people make a complete stop?

WASHINGTON – The District more than 30 stop sign cameras to catch drivers rolling through stops in and around school zones.

海角社区app thought it would be interesting to go to a random intersection to see just how many people came to a full stop.

It was unscientific to say the least. 海角社区app’s Megan Cloherty set up an iPhone camera at a four-way stop in a quiet residential intersection along Brandywine Road in Northwest, in between the busy Reno Road and Connecticut Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

“There’s not a lot of traffic during the day but at rush hour, people start to use this neighborhood to cut through it looks like,” Cloherty says in her observations.

At the end of the five-minute experiment, six out of 21 cars had actually stopped before crossing the intersection.
