Commuters band together to free man trapped by train (Video)

WASHINGTON — When a man became wedged between a commuter train and a platform in Australia Wednesday, people in the station came to his rescue.

A man’s leg slipped and he got stuck in the gap between the door and the train at Perth’s Stirling Station in Australia Wednesday morning, according to

That’s when the commuters came together and pushed the train, tilting it so the trapped man could escape.

David Hynes, the spokesman for , the public transit service in the Perth area, said when the man first fell in the gap, people alerted the train’s driver not to move.

“Our staff, who were there at the time, got the passengers, and there were lots of them, off the train, and organized them to sort of rock, tilt the train backwards away from the platform so they were able to get him out and rescue him,” Hynes told ABC 海角社区app.

The man was transported to a hospital, but it is believed he did not sustain serious injuries, according to ABC 海角社区app.

“It was people power that saved someone from possibly quite serious injury,” Hynes said to ABC 海角社区app.
