34,000 expected at Military Bowl parade, game today in Annapolis

WASHINGTON — Thirty-four thousand football fans are expected to pack聽Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis for the Military Bowl on Saturday. The game and the events that come before it will be a good boost for the city’s economy but if you are traveling around the area, expect delays.

“Between the parade in the morning and the kick-off in early afternoon, delays are聽likely,” says 海角社区app Traffic Reporter Dave Dildine.

Dildine says you can expect slowdowns merging off of route 50 at Rowe Boulevard. 聽Also roads such as College Avenue, Route 450, and Church Circle will be tough areas to get through.

The days starts with the Military Bowl 5K which will leave from the stadium and head through historic downtown Annapolis, police will close roads as the runners make way through the town.

Then at 9 a.m. the Military Bowl Parade begins at City Dock, weaving its way through the downtown area.

If you are going to the game or the parade, finding parking will be the problem. You won’t be able to park near City Dock or along Main street. Your best bet will be using public parking garages and taking Circulator buses to get to the downtown area and the stadium.
