Republicans held no primary or caucus but met in April to choose delegates to the party’s national convention in Cleveland. Those unbound delegates are free to support the candidate of their choice. At to support billionaire Donald Trump, giving the front-runner the needed delegates to clinch the party’s nomination in late May.
