WASHINGTON 鈥斅燤aryland State Police say they鈥檝e gotten a lot of calls complaining about the that swarmed the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway, U.S. 50 and Interstate 295 in Maryland on Sunday afternoon.
And Elena Russo, spokeswoman for the Maryland State Police,聽said just because you didn鈥檛 see police giving chase doesn鈥檛 mean they aren鈥檛 pursuing those involved.
Police are sifting through the dozens of videos posted on social media and some information phoned in by tipsters.
And they鈥檙e involved in a long term solution as well.
鈥淯sing aviation, using covert operations, and really engaging all of those other resources that could help curb this behavior,鈥 Russo said.
Some riders in Sunday鈥檚 incident posted messages indicating they were just having fun.
Police 鈥 and many startled drivers聽鈥 see it differently.
鈥淥bviously these people aren鈥檛 taking into consideration the dangers associated with what they鈥檙e doing which you have already seen on those videos,” Russo said.
