A car fatally struck a 13-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon on Route 15 in Haymarket, Virginia, near Graduation Drive, Prince William County police said.
The accident occurred in the area of James Madison Highway and Graduation Drive near Battlefield High School and Reagan Middle School at around 12:35 p.m. said the driver, identified as a 46-year-old woman from Chantilly, was driving a 2019 Honda Odssey, heading northbound on James Madison Highway.
Police determined the driver had a green light at the intersection as the teenager was attempting to cross James Madison Highway. After hitting the pedestrian, the driver stayed at the scene. She was not injured at the scene.

As a result of the crash and the police investigation, Northbound James Madison/Route 15 was closed between Lightner Road and Graduation Drive. 海角社区app’s Dave Dildine in the Traffic Center said the road opened about 3 p.m.
Police did not say if the driver will be charged but they are still investigating the incident.
Another 13-year-old boy died in January after being hit by two cars on the same intersection.
