Already thinking about summer vacation? You鈥檙e not alone.

A recent revealed more than 50% of people surveyed are already thinking about summer vacation plans.

If international travel is on your list for next summer, some U.S. airlines are focusing new routes and flights to Europe, said CBS 海角社区app Travel Editor Peter Greenberg.

鈥淲hen an airline announces a new route, they do a lot of introductory discount fares,鈥 he said. 鈥淛ump on those. You will see a lot of them happen between now and the end of February.鈥

Another factor to consider for travel next summer: The U.S. dollar is strong.

鈥淚t creates an opportunity to get, essentially, a 30% to 40% discount on total expenses on a trip,鈥 Greenberg said. 鈥淎 dinner in Turkey will cost about 40% less than anywhere else. The actual savings is tangible.鈥

For many other places, Greenberg said, just look for now and wait to book.

鈥淭he sweet spot for travel, unless it鈥檚 a particular holiday or it鈥檚 high season, is 54 days out,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 always a good time to look. But, right now is not a good time to book for the summer.鈥
