WASHINGTON 鈥� Reality TV is returning to the nation’s capital 鈥� or聽at least one of its very wealthy suburbs.
that its new series in the popular 鈥淩eal Housewives鈥� franchise will be 鈥淭he Real Housewives of Potomac.鈥� The show, featuring the drama of women and their families in the Montgomery County town, will debut in January.
The show will follow Ashley Darby, Christine Jackson Jordan, Karen Huger, Katie Rost, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon as they navigate the social circles of Potomac, Maryland.
Dixon is the ex-wife of former NBA star Juan Dixon, and former head of .聽 Bryant is the ex-wife of the popular Baltimore pastor, Jamal Harrison Bryant.
Bravo’s bios of the other women say Darby is a聽restaurateur, Jordan is a “social butterfly,” Huger is a “grand dame” and Rost is an聽international model and TV personality.
“If you haven’t heard of Potomac, that’s fine, because that means we’ve done a great job of keeping it a nice, little secret,” Gizelle Bryant says in the trailer for the聽show, which often showcases the opulent lifestyles of its subjects.
The median household income in Potomac is more than $178,000, according to U.S. Census data collected between 2009 and 2013.
This isn’t the first time women of the D.C. area have been featured on the franchise. “The Real Housewives of D.C.” aired in 2010.
“The Real Housewives of Potomac” premieres Jan. 17 at 9/8c.
Bravo is also working on a Real Housewives of Dallas, which will debut later in 2016.
