WASHINGTON — Sometimes an uphill climb can lead to happiness.
At least that鈥檚 the idea being pushed by Wintergreen Resort in Virginia this Valentine’s Day. In addition to the romantic packages being offered to couples, a special kind of speed dating is also being offered Tuesday afternoon for those who are single and trying to mingle.
It鈥檚 called 鈥淭he Powder of Love,鈥� and in the time it takes a ski lift to ferry skiers and snowboarders up the mountain, you can get to know someone and see if there鈥檚 an initial spark. A company news release says that to break the ice special cards will be used to get the conversation going between couples as they begin their trek up. There鈥檚 no guarantee you鈥檒l be in love by the time you reach the top, of course, but if it doesn鈥檛 work out you can simply ski or snowboard back to the bottom and try again.
The speed dating promotion runs from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at Wintergreen, a ski resort southwest of Charlottesville.
