Blizzard leaves college basketball team stranded on bus after game in Fairfax

WASHINGTON — Friday’s storm聽left a Pittsburgh聽men’s college basketball team stranded overnight on their bus on the Pennsylvania Turnpike after a game in Fairfax, Va. on Friday.

They were still there as of 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Duquesne Dukes left Fairfax around 4:30 p.m. Friday after their 86-75 win over聽George Mason University, ESPN reports.

Jim Ferry, head coach of the team, told ESPN’s SportsCenter Saturday their bus stopped moving around 9:15 p.m.

Ferry said everyone is okay and safe, although聽running out of leftover pizza and water is becoming a concern.

The bus is approximately 80 miles away from Pittsburgh, Ferry said.
