WASHINGTON — Prince William County police are investigating an officer-involved shooting which occurred at a residence in Woodbridge, Va. Monday night.
Police were called to a home on the 13100 block of Tory Lane around聽6:30 p.m. Monday聽for a reported disturbance between a woman and her son.
The son, identified as a聽25-year-old man, approached the officer with a knife. The officer fired聽and hit聽the man in the upper chest.
The man was flown聽to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.
The officer and mother also suffered from聽minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
