Authorities in St. Mary鈥檚 County, Maryland, have found the body of a 10-year-old girl who聽went missing聽while swimming Sunday afternoon.
Genesi Elizabeth Sosa-Bonilla was found Monday near the spot where she was last seen in the water around 1 p.m. Sunday in Piney Point, Maryland.
The victim had been swimming with another 10-year-old and an adult at Camp Merryelande, located at 15914 Camp Merryelande Road, when the current pulled them into the Potomac River.
鈥淭he adult made it to shore safely, and one of the two juveniles was rescued from the water by citizens nearby,鈥� the St. Mary鈥檚 County Sheriff鈥檚 Office said in a statement Monday.
The Sheriff鈥檚 Office says it and the Coast Guard were at the scene all night looking for the girl.
