Raw sewage rushes into Alexandria homes

WASHINGTON — Residents in part of Alexandria, Virginia, are still cleaning
up after raw sewage entered their homes after a water main burst Thursday.

The main broke in the 100 block of South Jordan Street.

The contaminated water entered 14 homes near Landmark Mall, ruining furniture
and belongings.

Virginia American Water hired Serve Pro to clean up, but the residents say the
clean up is going slowly.

The city says the main is privately owned.
