WASHINGTON 鈥 There are claims that a聽recent Washington-area real estate sale has set the record for the area’s most expensive piece of land.
Six acres of Virginia land in McLean, on Chain Bridge Road and with pristine views of the Potomac River, have sold for聽$19.9 million.
Long & Foster says the sale of the two adjoining parcels represents the largest residential land sale of its kind in the metro area, based on聽listing records for the District and the close-in counties in Maryland and Virginia.
The land is located on what鈥檚 referred to as McLean鈥檚 Gold Coast. In a news release, realtor Fouad Talout said the area 鈥渁ttracts both local and international dignitaries, who appreciate the neighborhood鈥檚 convenience to our nation鈥檚 capital as well as its privacy.鈥
