WASHINGTON 鈥� The Virginia TV station where Alison Parker and Adam Ward worked before they were gunned down on live television is honoring them by renaming its new studio, “Studio A.”

In August, cameraman Ward, 27, and reporter Parker, 24, were on an early morning assignment for WDBJ-TV at Smith Mountain Lake when Vester Lee Flanagan walked up and shot them and Vicki Gardner, a Chamber of Commerce official, with a 9 mm Glock pistol during a live interview.
The shootings occurred as thousands across the central Virginia community watched the footage quickly spread to millions on social media. Flanagan, who had appeared on air using the name Bryce Williams, shot himself as police pursued his car. He died hours later.
Flanagan, a disgruntled former reporter, had sued the station a month after he was fired in early 2013, claiming racial discrimination.
