WATCH: Survivor of lightning strike near White House shares story

The woman who survived a lightning strike near the White House that killed three others earlier this month has shared her story.

Amber Escudero-Kontostathis that she was not sure why she pulled through, but she definitely is “not going to waste my second chance at life.”

Brooks A. Lambertson, 24, of Los Angeles; James Mueller, 76; and Donna Mueller, 75, died after they were struck by lightning in Lafayette Park during a storm on Aug. 4. The Muellers were a retired couple from Janesville, Wisconsin, in D.C. for their 56th anniversary.
